The situation

Shawn, a licensed clinical social worker in Salt Lake City, was opening a new private therapy practice. The business needed a professional web presence before opening day — not a placeholder, not a template site, but something clients would trust the moment they landed on it.

The hard deadline was real. The practice needed to be findable and the contact form needed to be working on day one so Shawn could start accepting inquiries.

What I built

A fully custom website built with Astro 6 and Tailwind CSS v4 — written from scratch, no page builders, no templates. The design focuses on clarity and calm: the right mood for a therapy practice, and the right visual priority for someone deciding whether to reach out for help.

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile for spam protection and Resend for email delivery. Turnstile is invisible to the user — no checkbox, no image puzzle — just seamless form submission that blocks bots.

The site runs on Cloudflare Workers, which means global edge deployment and essentially zero operational overhead. No server to manage, no hosting bill that grows with traffic.

On the deadline

Every web project I take on has a deadline. This one had one that mattered — the practice's opening day. We hit it. The site was live, the form was working, and Shawn was receiving contact submissions before the first client walked through the door.

Meeting a hard deadline isn't a selling point I'm proud of because it's exceptional. It's a selling point because it's expected — and it matters a lot when your business depends on it.
